Irisan History


The Irisin was called before " IDISAN".This comes from ibaloi term. Idisan, means "used to grind make it fine".
Irisan before has a thickly forested with a pine trees. Irisan before was also connected in the Tuba Benguet, wherein the first mayor is Joaquin smith.
The first families in the Irisan was the Luna, Smith, Bugnay, Alvarez, Maganes, Oseo, Bignay-an, Capero, Dunnong, Gabol, Saguid, Menecio, Tacloy Balaon, Ingosan, Catalan, Tacay, Cutay, Mang-os, And Salda.

Virginia Luna was not ibaloi by birth but she is knowledgable enough.In the year 1972 until 1958 she is the barangay official and until she became the barangay Captain in the year 1972 until 1958.
Irisan is the Biggest population, and has a 33 puroks. It has the settlers from CAR, Manila and Lowland Province.

Irisan is Minorization , Marginalization, Dislocation, Silence and Invisibility of ibalois in the rapid urbanization nad massive inmigration of numerous people and cultures in Baguio.
